The Occupational Health and Safety Act 2000 provides the legislative framework for the health and safety of workers. The main aim of the Occupational Health and Safety Act is to ensure that managers identify, assess and eliminate or control risks in the workplace. This legal requirement includes electrical risks.
Electrical risks cannot be eliminated, therefore the law requires that managers implement strategies to control the risks presented to workers by the use of electricity and electrical appliances or tools.
Scream Audio inspects and tests all electrical appliances in accordance with Australian Standard AS 3760: 2003.
Scream Audio’s qualified electrical test and tag technicians use specialised appliance testing instruments to test for invisible electrical faults, as well as completing a thorough visual inspection.
Whether you run a construction site, a retail store, a kitchen or a factory, electrical safety is paramount. All levels of management are legally responsible for workplace safety, this includes assessing the risk presented by portable electrical appliances.
Appliance Testing is a strategy which minimises the risk of electrical shock to workers. Each appliance is inspected, electrically tested, and then tagged (labelled) at regular intervals. A record of these tests is kept as part of your overall OHS risk management documentation. Electrical Testing and tagging is especially important in work environments that are hostile to electrical equipment.
